Atlantic City is currently recognized as one of the gaming capitals of the world. Its stunning shoreline and exciting casinos make Atlantic City a unique destination for sun and fun!
Atlantic City, however, has its roots in hunting and fishing in the 1600’s before two rail lines built in the 1800’s opened the passageway for thousands of visitors to this seaside resort. The swanky hotels that bordered the ocean’s surf included the Ambassador, the ground that Tropicana Casino Hotel is built on, the Ritz-Carlton, the Marlboro-Blenheim and the Dennis Hotel, home to the modern day Bally’s Park Place & Wild Wild West. Visitors came from far and wide to experience all Atlantic City had to offer including the world famous Diving Horse at the Steel Pier, the Salt Water Taffy and of course the beautiful beach and 8 mile long boardwalk.

The appeal of Atlantic City was known early in the city’s history but its greatest attraction came in 1978 when Resorts International opened its doors as Atlantic City’s first casino hotel. Since then other casinos have come and a few have gone but Atlantic City’s arms are open to welcome the three new casino hotels scheduled to open by 2010.
Atlantic City’s rich in history and well-versed in nostalgia. It is even more impressive, however, to watch where history takes this one of a kind resort mecca.
